Bonnie and Clyde film - Warner Bros.

Another one for the 100 films/parodies challenge

Bonnie and Clyde is a fiercely important film in American culture. it's portrayal of violence is just astounding for 1967.
It was also the film that gave birth to the R rating for movies and led to the New Age of Hollywood where filmmakers like Stanley Kubrick, Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorcese, Francis Ford Coppola, Roman Polanski, Woody Allen and George Lucas used this era for their playground and made their mark on history with films that broke away from the censorship of what was considered taboo and itopened the door for new filmmakers to create films without having the studios to pressure them to censor it. I guess you could call it a Hollywood Reniassance, it ended by the early 80's as Hollywood realized they could make a profit on this and soon they managed to force directors to abide by their rules. That's one of the many reasons why films these days aren't as daring as they were back then...

This film (as well as "The Graduate") also opened the door for films like "The Godfather", "The Wild Bunch", "Rosemary's Baby", "A Clockwork Orange", "The Sting", "Marathon Man", "Jaws" and many, many others could be made without Hollywood executives breathing down the filmmakers backs.

Of course, I couldn't resist the joke since their car got all shot up like it did....:XD:

If you're into black comedy and posthumous narration, you might enjoy watching "Penn And Teller Get Killed". It was the directed by the same man who directed "Bonnie And Clyde", Arthur Penn. But I must warn you, you'll probably have to watch it by streaming it via YouTube (the price is $2.99), or buy it on Amazon.com. I've heard it was only in theaters for a week.
